I began the Life Lab in 2013 after experiencing for myself how powerful coaching and Relational Life Therapy could be. On my own journey, I realized for the first time not only what I wanted to do, but how I wanted to do it and for whom. With this clarity, I created an exit strategy from my previous career to set my sights on providing others with hope, repair and empowerment.
By far, the greatest gift I've received was the introduction of RLT into the relationship with my wife. We were basically done; ready to call the lawyers and divide our assets. Finding Terry Real's work and then working with an RLT-certified coach, we were able to put our marriage back together. We weren't going to figure this stuff out on our own. We needed help, and thankfully we found it just in the nick of time.
My mission in this work is threefold;
-to reduce stress and pain in your relationship with yourself, your business and others
-to increase happiness and fulfillment in these same areas
-to teach you how to do these things for yourself
My experience in business also comes to bear in my work at the Life Lab. I draw on 20+ years of self-employment and entrepreneurial experience in many different fields: artisan concrete, construction, property management, music composition, engineering, licensing, studio management and web design. The lessons learned from plotting my own path are now part of the skill set I have to offer my clients.
"Relentless yet optimistic" might be a good way to describe me. Once I have a clear idea of what success looks like to my clients, I do everything in my power to get them there. When I first started training as a coach, I thought that creating action plans would be the most important part of coaching. What I learned once I began practicing is that most people are fully capable of figuring out what to do... once they gain clarity on exactly where they are headed and how to get out of their own way.

- In both couples and individual coaching, it really does come down to hope, repair and empowerment. Finding or uncovering the hope that tomorrow can be better than today. Repair of the nearly automatic behaviors that prevent us from getting what we want. Empowerment to actively change the course of our own situation and destiny.
